ULTRALITE is a name of Thermal Insulation product made by UNITED PERLITE COPRORATION, it in comes in the form of pipes, boards and blocks. Manufacturing processes is by pressure molding of ultralite silicate/perlite materials bind together by high qualify inorganic binders and reinforced by high heat resistant fibers. ULTRALITE Silicate / Perlite. Powder is produced by ex-pansion of silicate/perlite (glassy rock) under extremely high temperature resulting to very light weight powdery material consisting of countless airtight bubbles making it a first class insulating material. Basic chemical compo-sition 74%-SiO², 15%-AI²O³, 5%-Na²,O³, 4%-K²O, 1.2% CaO. PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
o Service Temperature 650 ºC max
o Density (dry) 180 kg/m³
o Bending Strength 3.0 kg/cm²
o Linear Shrinkage 2.0% max.
o Water Absorption 2.0% max.
o Thermal ConductIvity 0.042+ 0.00010
Kcal/mºC
o Acid Resistance (24hrs) no effect
(25% Sulfuric Acid)
o ASTM SPECIFICATION..............C-610-67
o All tests conducted according to standard
ASTM test methods.
|
o SAFETY FEATURES 1). As it is an inert material, its not only asbestos free but it is also resistant
from acids such as concentrated sulfuric, acetic
and hydrochloric.
2).Contains less than 150 ppm chloride and other
corrosive chemicals thus saunas good protection
for iron pipes, etc.
3). Non toxic to human or animals.
4). High water repellency, specially good for
outdoor insulation.
o Excellent for High and Low Thermal Insulation
1) It's Extremely low thermal conductivity make it good
for both high and low temperature use.
2). Good insulation from sub zero up to 650'C
(1200ºF)
o APPLICATION
Widely used in Geothermal. Petrochemical Plant's.
pipe insulation, tanks and vessels in food factories, sugar
mills and refineries, textile mills, refrigeration and cold
storages.
* The ultralite pipe and block moulded insulation is
approximately 20 % lighter than ordinary calcium
silicate high temperature insulation thus, easy handling
and last application.
